I just found this interesting article at Stern.de about an artist who setup a phone connection to a melting glacier in Island. The global warming issue has been overdone and over discussed in the past few years (of course its an important issue, but what is the point not to talk about it for decades and then bring it to a level where people jut shut off, if they even hear the words), but this one is special and nicely done. The artist put a microphone into the glacier lake and you can listen to the glacier melting. Well, its a pity you cannot talk to him. Would be interesting to record the callers responses :-) Here is the number, in case you want to call the glacier yourself: + 44 (0) 77 57 00 11 22
You may have seen this dark looking guy in front of Propagandas door on Fridays, when they had the famous New Rave parties last year. You may have seen him hanging out at one of our Labelfucker parties and you may have experienced his charm (I’m being sarcastic) at our last LF Party, where he did the face control and guest-list check. Who is this guy with the American accent. East Coast Baby! East Cost! Straight outta New York, ya know na mean?
It has been a while since I first met Zak and Ja’bagh two New Yorkers from Caucasian decent, who live in Moscow as long as I am here. Zak and Ja’bagh run a photostudio and a production company. They mainly do work for advertising nowadays, but like me they ventured out and started some alternatives to posh Moscow nightlife. We have a lot in common and so we became friends over the past year.
Ja’bagh worked on a photo book showing the young and alternative people who are the “new” other side of Moscow’s nightlife. They are crazy, they are creative, they have tattoos and they are anything else than mainstream, which they often consider an offense. Ja’baghs book is a must see for everyone who is interested on the other side of Moscow. Wherever there is a mainstream there is an underground movement and the stronger the mainstream, the stronger the underground. Ja’bagh has portrait that underground. This once again makes him someone who sticks out of the normal and it shows his creativity and his ability to work off the beaten cliques of Russia and Moscow. Moreover it makes him someone with a feeling for what’s going on in this ever changing metropolis and its sub-cultures.
Ja’bagh started out with art and fashion photography shooting editorials for Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan and many others. Then he started shooting commercials and major ad campaigns. His book is going back to the roots of it all, ART. The book is dedicated to Moscow, the city that gave him to grow and develop with her. Its also dedicated to the people who like to think outside the box and who are out of the mainstream.
You can get Ja’baghs book in most Moscow bookstores from next week on. ass on the word. This may be interesting for other people as well.
Great! Not sure it can be done in Moscow. Red Square would be a cool location. Maybe one of the malls. Ha ha, even a club. Just imagine everybody would stop dancing and not moving at Opera or So-Ho rooms for 5 min.
Well, some people would probably get robbed in the meantime. Others would be beaten up by some security or police. Again, not sure that would work in Russia. I’d join, if you dare to set it up, though. Let me know.
The Labelfucker crew joined forces with Zak and Ja’bagh from Idle Conversation. First we organized a nice little after work party next Wednesday at Propaganda. Its friends and family, as usual. Come early, enjoy a drink at the bar or have some food. Meet new and old friends, talk and network. At 11 PM we’ll move the tables and start the party. We have invited some of Moscows best DJs to feed your senses. Besides we’ll have a vj and we’ll show vidoes on the screen. It will be an early end around 2 AM, because we all have to work next day. Come join us, bring a friend or two. We expect a lot of people. Please send me an email and I’ll put you on our list. That will make sure you can pass Ja’baghs tight style- and facecontrol.
So is that the end of Labelfucker? You just moved into some old unfancy club? Nope. This is WOW! a new project between the Idle Conversation guys and us. We’ll continue to make our underground trash parties. Next one is in the planning already. Expect a Lopht Party Brooklyn Style at the end of November. This is a new, much bigger location. Away from residentials, so we can party without policemen.
WOW!

The name speaks for itself. Labelfucker brings together a hand selected group of people for simple, but nice parties. New York-, Brooklyn-Williamsburg-, Berlin-Style. No matter of which background, from artists to DJs to businessmen to diplomats. To join the parties you have to have a code to enter. That only goes to friends or friends of friends. Not to ensure to have a glamorous (profitable) crowd, but to ensure good vibes. The Labelfuckers are not against labels. They just don’t care about them.
We, yes… I am a Labelfucker as well, had or first party yesterday. Some things went wrong, but I think it was probably a good one.
