Moscow Metro

I really don’t like this TV station (Russia Today), mainly because (in my opinion) its being used as a propaganda station almost like in the old Soviet times. At first I had no problem with it. It seemed to be relatively objective, but then it got worse and worse. Not sure who runs this station and if they do it because someone tells them to, or just because they are afraid of losing support or local broadcasting licenses. The program is mainly dedicated to foreigners or Russians, who live abroad, but as a foreigner living here, I am often disgusted by the way they twist stories to make them look pro Russia. In general the quality of the program is poor and journalists don’t seem to do a good job, no matter, if they are told or just careless. Ha ha, that was my disclaimer upfront, but here is what I actually wanted to talk about … and I hope my friends working at Russia Today don’t take this too personal.

Well. I didn’t want to go on and one about freedom of press in Russia and Russia Today. I wanted to write about the Moscow Metro and show you this clip, which is not so bad. It gives you a brief history about the Moscow Metro and sheds some light on today’s large metro network underneath Moscow.
