Moscow Halloween

Halloween is not really a Russian tradition, but in recent years it became more and more popular, especially among the party people. I guess people just like to dress up in costumes and be someone else once in a while, especially in times like now, with a crisis bringing lots of (personal) problems.

This is a video of last Fridays Labelfucker Halloween Party. More on Labelfucker.ru

The crises arrived at the consumer base, especially here in Moscow with many people losing their jobs and a sense of uncertainty of what lays ahead. I just talked to the club editor of Timeout Magazine and I asked her, how Moscow’s clubs are dealing with it. The two main posh clubs Krisha and So-Ho Rooms still seem to be packed with people every weekend spending thousands of dollars, while others like Famous and Rai start to feel the crisis. The editor thinks, it will not have a long term effect on Moscow’s (posh) nightlife, because people will party and show-off, no matter how bad it is. She even meant that people would give their last dollars to pretend to be a part of the society, just not to lose their face.
