Tibetan Pilgrims shot by Chinese Soldiers

You know me, I am trying not to get political, but I need to vent this one off right now. Tibet and China are once again in the news these days. The Olympic torch run is becoming a farce. I like what I see, not only because I support the Tibetan cause, but also because I think that the Olympics have long turned into big business with less interest in the sports as in the money that can be made with this event. That is clearly against the original Olympic idea in my opinion.
Back to Tibet. Little was shown on TV about the Tibetan uprising in the past weeks, but you may want to have a look at this video. I saw this a while ago and I have been shocked. It was even more shocking that the Chinese were so ignorant about the international witnesses. Once again ignorant, like 1989 at the Tian’anmen-Massacre, where they rolled with tanks over bodies, while foreign cameras were recording this.
Its the ignorance that bothers me most. Its a clear sign that Chinese don’t respect us or anybody else then them. At least this is the message I am receiving from all of this. Therefor I am asking for a boycott of my country at these Olympics and while I am sorry for all of the sportsmen that have trained so hard to compete, this is for a greater cause. Of course that is not going to happen, because by now we need the new Chinese buying power. We simply can’t afford to piss them off and so we’ll just make a happy smile and accept whatever the Chinese dictate us. This is not about Tibet. This is about us and how China will continue to treat us in the future.
