I just came back from a business meeting at Swissotel Krasnye Holmy, near Pavletskaya. Its a wonderful area and I enjoyed my walk to the hotel. After the meeting we went up to the bar for a drink and to watch the Moscow sunset. Probably the best place to watch a sunset in Moscow. Also good to take your date or wife. But bring some $. The bottle of Evian is 350 Rub. and a beer 420 Rub. Don’t even get started with cocktails which are in the 600-1000 range. Still its worth it. Beautiful view and a lounge atmosphere. What do you want more…

For a cheaper but less hip / more dated view of Moscow from on high, there’s the 27th-floor Red Bar (Red Club?) at Bashnya-2000 near (but not inside - don’t make the same mistake we made!) the Hotel Ukraina.
