DC Shoes Party

It was just another boring weekend. I have been invited to a few parties, but I needed to pass, because my German tax statements were due on Monday and I spent my time cranking numbers back and forth. It was Saturday night when I talked to Nikl, who was just visiting Vinylkin for a beer. Ever since the Flammable Beats crew doesn’t have a steady weekly gig anymore, I don’t see them very often. Vinylkin invited me to a private party on Sunday night. It was thrown in MEO Café close to Okybrskaya by DC, an American Skate Show company.
It was late on Sunday, when I finally finished my tax and I haven’t been sure, if I should still go out in the cold. Then again, I haven’t seen Vinylkin, Tactics and the others for a while and probably it would also be good to go there to meet some new business contacts (it was a party for their dealers). Vinylkin put me on the list and when I arrived around 11:30 PM, most of the people were drunk as hell already. There was an open (free) bar and free food. How generous of DC Shoes. Thanks guys.
My friends know that I like to drink. One may argue it’s because I need to suppress my complexes. Its true in a way, I can party without a single drink, but it takes me much longer to get going and with a few Vodka Red Bulls I get moving much faster. Not sure, if that has something to do with my complexes, the need to turn off my brain (after all this hard work) or I am just a social alcoholic. I simply like it and once I get started (that is probably a problem) I get going and going, often ending up being some stupid drunk idiot. But Thank God, most of the people with me are also drunk as hell and don’t realize it too much, or maybe they accept it or forget about it next day. And what do you expect, if you go to get another round of drinks. And another… Its probably one of my bad sides, but at least I am not aggressive. Probably that’s why nobody says anything, other than my girlfriend, which is chronically pissed at me, when I go out (alone or with her). So I admit it, I like the party life here in Moscow, no matter which scene I am in. As you can see I tend to jump from group to group. And what else can you do in Moscow on a Sunday freezing winter night? Take a walk? Done that (as you can see here) as well many times.
It was one of these parties, where I just wanted to come by for a quick drink and to say hello and I ended up seeing the sunrise next morning. No need to say, being heavily drunk as usual. Well, before I go on and on about me being drunk and stupid and what other people think about it (I don’t care about that anyway, one of the good things my grandma has taught me), I better leave you with some of the photos I shot that night. Ha ha, yes, I see double, probably because of all the Vodka Red Bulls that DJ Tactics organized during the night in MEO and the club where we went for the aftersession.
By the way, if you get a chance to see the Flammable Beats crew, check it out. They are heavily into Underground Hip Hop, but also spin Reggae, Funk and recently I even heard some groovy black 80’s dance tracks from Vinylkin. Well done.
